More Yummy Goodness

So if any of you guys out there get tired of seeing this stuff, you can always tell me how I can hide it. Who knows, I might even post some thank you pictures......

:)

Pictures

Ok, so I promised some pictures of yours truly.....

This is my second birthday - according to mom, when they started singing I hid under the table and wouldn't come out. I remember we had those chairs for quite a while.....

This is me doing something I wasn't supposed to do (mom always said I was way independent). I think there's also a picture somewhere of me after I got in trouble for it.

Mr. Potato head was my friend, what can I say?

This was (I think) 5th grade, which would have made me around 11. I HATED the long hair, but mom would never let me cut it.....

This is one of my favorite pictures - notice the puffy paint T-shirt. I think I made that in Girl Scouts. GOD I was such a geek (I have band pics too somewhere). I want to say I was 13 here. This was of course after I went to stay at Grandma's for a week during the summer and promised her mom said I could cut my hair (I was an EVIL child). When mom came to pick me up, she pretended she didn't know who I was.

Self explanatory I think...I believe I was about 15 in this one. Too bad there's no adult leagues around here, could be a good way to get back in shape....that and I loved playing. They could have gotten us a better sponsor though.

Men beware.....don't piss me off. Another sport I dabbled in after soccer, I was 17 here.

And last but not least, my senior picture. I had just turned 18 I believe. The one's they took for the yearbook turned out like crap, so we went to Sear's and had them redone, sans the cap and gown. I remember when we bought that dress. I took one look at it on the hangar and decided it was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen. Mom convinced me to try it on however, and it actually looked good on me. Go figure.

Sorry folks, no recent pictures that I care to share with you all, either BF is in them (not sure how he'd feel about his mug on the internet) or they are crappy. I will try to get some good ones to post soon.

Tomorrow - maybe some bikini blogging for blog-grandpappy Harvey. Keep up the suggestions y'all - questions, requests, whatever. This is actually kinda fun!

Wedding Updates

So Aunt Tammi wants a wedding update. Well, here it is.....

_)*(&(*&#)_+)+)(#)(&)(*&)(*!&_!~!

Seriously though - I am stressed out about the whole thing. It is much more complicated and time consuming than I ever imagined. I would really rather have someone else do EVERYTHING and just tell me when to show up. But, since it doesn't work that way....here is what I have so far.

These are the invitations I purchased.

This is the guest book I purchased.

This is the ring bearer pillow I like.

This is the dress I like.

These are the unity candles I like.

These are the cakes I like (with flowers to match bouquet).

This is the bouquet I will be having made for me (with matching boutonnieres (sp?) for the groom and best man, maid of honor bouquet, and corsages for the mothers) They will probably be more closely matched to the dress below, with maybe a hint of pink/mauve or burgundy.

This is the maid of honor dress I like.

This is the flower girl dress I like. Needs color though - I think I'll have the handle of the basket lined with flowers to match my bouquet, not sure how else to add color to it though - ideas are welcome!

These are the cake topper flowers I found, made by the same person who does the bouquets. I was thinking about asking her to match the cake picture though (obviously the flowers would be the same color as the bouquet, not pink).

She also makes these really pretty gazebo's....

Notice I said I have only purchased two things so far. I'll be making my flower girl basket since I didn't like most of what I found on the internet and in the stores - why must they cover EVERYTHING in satin???? It's a bit much I think. I have a lead on a cheap photographer, and then I'd just need to possibly find a DJ (not a band - so if I request a song, I can hear the person I like singing it). I also found the ring I want to buy him, but there'll be no picture of that here since it is a surprise for him. I promise after he's seen it, I'll let you all see it too. ;)

Still have not decided on a place to have it as the boat was not as nice as I expected. In order for there to be enough room for us we would have had to reserve the whole boat. Which would have been fine, except it is old and not in as good of shape as they make it look in the pictures (there was wallpaper peeling off in the upstairs deck)! Right now, I am looking into the Tradewinds Resort on St. Pete Beach. I don't want a beach wedding, but supposedly they have gazebos which would be nice, and their catering service looks to be of a reasonable price. They have not responded to my e-mail yet, so cross your fingers people!

Tomorrow - I'll be posting some pictures of yours truly for Oddybobo.

Here's Some More Yummy Eye Candy......

Another Funny

Overzealous zookeeper Friedrich Riesfeldt (Paderborn, Germany) fed his constipated elephant, Stefan, 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up pachyderm finally let it fly, and suffocated the keeper under 200 pounds of feces.Investigators say ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded on him."The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr.Riesfeldt to the ground, where he struck his head on a rock and lay unconscious as the elephant continued to evacuate his bowels on top of him," said flabbergasted Paderborn police detective, Erik Dern. With no one there to help him, he lay under the dung for at least an hour before a watchman came along, and during that time he suffocated. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves sh*t happens.

A Little Audience Participation is Required

Ok - so since I've made it no secret that I have not been inspired lately, and I have a hard time coming up with stuff to post, I thought I'd get a few suggestions from the Peanut Gallery. So you tell me - what do you want to see/hear? If by some small miracle I have readers who don't comment - I want to hear from you too.

Speak now.

YUMMY!!!

So I've been feeling all frustrated and kinda down lately since I'm having such a hard time planning this wedding, but as soon as I saw this, I cheered right up. Eat your hearts out girls.....

Something Funny For a Gloomy Monday......

A guy goes to the supermarket and notices a beautiful blond woman wave at him and say hello. He's rather taken aback, because he can't place where he knows her from. So he says, "Do you know me?" To which she replies, "I think you're the father of one of my kids." Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, "My God, are you the stripper from my bachelor party that I laid on the pool table with all my buddies watching, while your partner whipped me with wet celery and then stuck a carrot up my butt???" She looks into his eyes and calmly says, "No, I'm your son's mathteacher."

I'm Still Here....

Just a quick note to let you all know I'm still here, just not feeling inspired and brilliant enough to post.

I think blogger may be a bit screwed up this morning. I was going to post a fun game for you all to play, but it won't let me put a link up for some reason. I'll try back later.

MIA (and other stuff)

So I've been pretty busy between the end of the semester at school, wedding plans, and just being lazy! Had another test last week which I got a 97% (missed one out of 35....YAY!) Have a final on Thursday and then that's the end of the semester. Wooooo Hooooo - I have one more class at USF before I transfer up north!

Next paycheck will be the last time I pay rent at my current apartment, then I pack up my stuff to move north....YAY!!!

We pretty much decided we're going to have wedding on a cruise (it's a paddleboat that goes through the intercoastal down here in St. Petersburg). Mom and I are going on the cruise next weekend just to be sure we like it. When I get home tonight, I'm going to order my invitations. Still waiting to hear back from the photographer I found (who happens to be a fellow employee so it will be pretty cheap...YAY) and then we have to find out how much cakes are..... Got the flowergirl, ring bearer, and maid of honor all lined up, he still has to ask his best man. I found a dress I really like, I just have to go try it on....looks like everything is coming together.

So this weekend we went tubing on the Ichnetucknee, and then canoeing on the Santa Fe (where we saw an alligator on the river bank). Yesterday we spent the afternoon with BF's parents (being Father's Day and all) and that was about it! Next weekend is his bosses' birthday, so I guess we're having a big party for him.

Hopefully I'll have more to tell later!

Why Do People Have Weddings?

Seriously - who wants to go through the torture of planning and such? It's a nightmare!!!

So Aunt Tammi, I'm going to need for you to whip me up one of your fabulous spreadsheets to help me track all this crap - thanking you and that is all.

Hurricane Season in Full Swing

So I think Alberto is just mad 'cause Aunt Tammi left......

All joking aside (?), it looks like my area has yet again dodged the bullet as TS Alberto is expected to make landfall north of me in Cedar Key. Not that I am trying to make light of something so serious, but they will be okay - it's not even hurricane force and I imagine they will be glad for the rain. I know I'm glad for what we got here yesterday. I lost power I think for less than five minutes last night so all's well that ends well.

Childhood Memories

So the other day Tink had a post up about her favorite childhood book. Since I loved mine so much, I thought I'd do my own post rather than post a comment to hers.....Thanks for the idea!

So when I was in school, I was always just on the edge of the really bright kids - I was tested for ELP but fell short by just a few points. When I got to fourth grade, they decided to take all of us budding intellectuals and stick us in with a fifth grade class - we were the only one's in the school who got to do this. I was pretty fun....we did mostly fifth grade work except I remember we did a special segment where we studied the history of the state of Florida intensely (that was really fun and interesting) and we also had story time.....

If I remember correctly, the teacher's name was Mrs. Sutter. She would usually pick and read short stories to us, and golly if I can't remember how often she read, but I remember one in particular. It was the first time she'd actually read something novel length to us, and it was "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls (check the link for a synopsis of the story).

I loved this book so much, the next time the book fair came around I told Mom, if she'd just give me money for that book, that was all I had to have and no others. This was a big deal too, 'cause I *always* wanted books from the book fair, and I could find several I would like to have, but usually ended up having to cut my list down to two or three I really, really wanted.

So as soon as I got that book home, I re-read it...and re-read it....and re-read it. At this point I could probably tell you word for word exactly how the story goes, and I still have that original copy I got from the bookfair in fourth grade on my book shelf. Sure, now it's surrounded by more adult books by John Grisham, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and VC Andrews, but it's still one of my all time favorites. As a matter of fact, I think as soon as I'm done with the current book I'm reading, I'll re-read again!

Fun Google Search

So, apparently women learn all the things they need to know to be independent by searching on Google......

It's A Shame....

Check out my weather pixie people - it's quarter to nine and it's already 81 degrees. ACK! No wonder Tammi and T1G are dying in the heat down here....sheesh.

So we had lots of fun at our dinner Sunday - though I fear T1G may once again be scarred for life from some of the conversations he had to endure...what a trooper!

We did discuss wedding plans a bit, and they only thing we came up with for sure was that my brother will be walking me down the aisle. Other than that nothing has been decided yet. I really have to get on this if we hope to keep the date we decided on (October 22). HELP!!!!

More Concerts

So last night we went to see Gary Allen and Rascal Flatts - definitely someone you would want to see, they were great. However, unless you really like to stand up, you should get there early. The ratio of 12-teens to adults was astronomical. I didn't realize but apparently all these girls think the lead singer is cute.

Poor BF has been laying on my floor all weekend - he's got a rib out of place and is miserable. But he made it to the concert last night - lots of rum and coke tends to numb things up a bit you know?? Hope everyone's weekend is going well..... We're going to head down to mom's soon and see Aunt Tammi!

YAY!

Updates

I am trying to post comments on MuNu sites and getting an error.....*#*@#&*@

I got on 87.5% on the test last night (30 out of 35 right)

:)

I'm Losing It

Funny Story -

I have class on Tuesday's and Thursday's in the evening. Well for some reason this holiday week had me all screwed up. I walked around ALL DAY thinking Tuesday was Monday. To the point where when I got home, I sat on the couch and watched TV all night. So on Wednesday, I got to work thinking it was Tuesday, and did that ALL DAY. I went home and busied myself until it was time to go to class, and then left. I even called Mom and Tammi on the way there. So I got to school and walked to class, then actually got in the classroom before I realized, "Hey, I must be in the wrong class cause who the hell is the dinosaur teaching?" So I go back out into the hallway and check and then it hits me. It's the right room so it must be the wrong day. SON OF A BITCH! Well, I had a test on Thursday, and I had missed the last lecture before the test because of it. I feel like a retard! I did, however, do okay on the test (at least I think I did, he promised to have grades up sometime this morning).

As to the reason for all this distraction.....BF and I decided to get married in October. So I've been looking around for ideas on where to have it and who to invite and all that crap. Half of the guests are in the Gainesville area, and half of the guests are spread out between Tampa and Sarasota. We're only having 40 or so guests, and it's really hard to figure out if we should do it up there, or do it down here. I'm trying to spend the least amount of money possible so it's really irritating. Plus, Mom (bless her heart) keeps telling me, "Oh, you have to have this, and you have to have that" and I'm like, "Mom, that stuff costs money." She mentioned something about helping pay for it, but you know how that goes. Every little thing that's "only this much" adds up to a whole lot. Plus, I found a really cool ring for him! I can't tell you all about it though cause he reads here and I'm trying to keep it a surprise. As for mine......

Isn't it pretty??? We decided I didn't need an engagement ring, but he promised to buy me one later after he has money for it......

So, I was thinking last night - our original idea was to just get married in the backyard and have everyone bring food and beer (hey, it would have been fun). But now it's morphed to a real wedding somewhere. I still don't know what to do about the reception though. What if we didn't serve a sit down meal and just had like finger foods and a small bar or beer. I was almost thinking something cheap like Publix subs or something. Is that too tacky??? ACK! I'm going nuts!!!!
