A Bit of Insight

Just thought you all would like to see what our favoritest Aunt Tammi looks like when she is blogging.....

By the way, this is payback for thumping me on the head just now.

PPPPHHHHHHTTTTTTT

;P

In other news, I went to the doctor on Friday, they scheduled me for my sonogram on the 19th, so hopefully they won't have a hard time determining the sex. He is also sending me for an ultrasound 'cause he thinks I have a clogged milk duct.....hmm... this sounds like lots of fun.

Baby Pool

So it seems my wonderful Aunt Tammi has decided to start a baby pool for me. If you're interested, stop by and leave your comments.

Question?

Any other mom's out there get really weird and vivid dreams while pregnant? I have been having them every night for a week now, they are so vivid that last night I dreamt something fell from the ceiling on top of us while we were sleeping and woke up trying to jump out of bed. Seems kinda strange to me.....

Baby News

So I went to the doctor today, they told me I'm 10 weeks. The due date is 06/27/07. Right in the middle of summer......BOO HOO. Everything looks good, the five vials of blood they took last week said so. They did a sonogram to tell me the due date, so we have our first baby pictures, but I haven't decided yet if I want to post them or not. We'll see.

PS - I know Aunt Tammi's Christmas present, I know Aunt Tammi's Christmas present....HA HA HA (evil grin).

I Made It!

So I made it through my first Thanksgiving cooking fest (for 12 I might add) with flying colors. We had more than enough food and everything was edible. I can't hardly believe it.

So mom sent me a bunch of maternity clothes which came today, but my favorite is the flannel pajamas. I already put them on and have been walking around the house yelling "I got new jammies, I got new jammies." I think my brother-in-law thinks I'm weird or something......

This weekend is my nephew's 3rd birthday party! I can't believe he is three already. I wonder if time will go that fast when I have mine. Speaking of mine, I keep telling my husband it must be a girl cause I can only think of girls names and no boys names. I already decided if it IS a girl, I want to name her Katelyn Danielle. I'm not sure if that's how you spell Katelyn or not, but hey, it's my kid so I can spell it whatever way I want right? I guess I have to go online and look for some boys names just in case. The middle name is already decided since it has been in his family for several generations, I just have to pick a first name to go with Denton..... that makes it kinda tough.

Work is still going good, and I promise I'll have more pics from the wedding soon and some from the party this weekend too.

Funny Email

Got this from my MIL......

How Rubber Gloves Are Made
Next time you use a pair of rubber gloves you can remember this.....

A dentist noticed that his next patient, a little old lady, was nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.

"Do you know how they make these gloves?" he asked.

"No, I don't," she replied.

"Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in Mexico with a big tank of latex and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size."

She didn't crack a smile.

"Oh, well. I tried," he thought.

But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the procedure, she burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" he asked.

"I was just envisioning how condoms are made!"

Gotta watch those little old ladies! Their minds are always working...

Damn it, I forgot

to tell you all about the best piece of news I've heard in a while........

Jeff Bowden has "retired"

HOORAY!!!! GO NOLES!!!!!

Needles, Needles Everywhere

So I had to go this morning for what I'm sure will be just the first in a series of blood tests......They took FIVE vials of blood, I asked her if she made sure she left some for me. Since I have some 2nd? cousins that have cystic fibrosis, I have to have a carrier test for that as well as all the normal stuff they do. So this should be fun. My appointment to see the actual doctor is December 1st - so I should be able to give y'all a due date then.

We're supposed to have a yard sale today to get rid of a BUNCH of stuff - hopefully that all goes well. I already told the husband nothing that leaves the house is coming back, so if it doesn't get bought, it's getting donated somewhere. I doubt it will happen today though, it may end up being tomorrow.

More pics from the wedding soon. Until then, ta ta for now or TTFN.

Guess What Came in the Mail for me Today????

I got my copy of the papers that show my house is officially sold! This means I no longer have to talk to or deal with that retarded ex of mine or his crack head girlfriend......YAY!!! I think I'll do a happy dance right now!!!!

So Aunt Tammi keeps pestering me about posting, and I have to say, I don't really have much to say. My house is sold, the job is good, the wedding is over. I haven't gotten an appointment with the OB yet so I can't give you a due date on the baby, but as soon as I know, you'll know. I'll be starting back at school in Jan (depending on the due date) and then taking a semester or two off before finishing my bachelor's degree. I'm sure though that through out the pregnancy and after the baby is born, there will be lots of stories so please be patient.

Peace Y'all

Thank God That's Over

So we're back. Let me just say that I never want to spend a whole week in the keys again. Yea, it was pretty out on the water and all, but just not for me. So there was some kind of catastrophe every day we were there....

We got there Sunday to check in. His grandparents paid for our hotel for us as a wedding gift (YAY for grandparents). Well it seems they don't allow you to check into a hotel under someone else's credit card without some kind of form filled out. Never mind that his grandmother told them she was booking it for someone else when she made the reservations.....So anyway, we had to give them my card so they'd let us check in until we could get ahold of his grandmother to straighten the whole thing out. We went out to eat, and then came back and went to bed.

Monday we went out shopping and touring around the town for the day. Not too bad, until we got back to the hotel and I realized my battery light was on. Yes folks, my alternator took a shit and the husband had to change it right there in the hotel parking lot.

Tuesday we took a catamaran out to the Dry Tortugas. It was pretty cool, we went snorkeling and stuff. That is, it was pretty cool till we realized we forgot the sunscreen and both of us got burnt like lobsters. We did get some really cool underwater pics though, when I get them developed I'll try and post some.

Wednesday we decided to do some more shopping. The first two stores we go to my card gets declined. So at this point I'm freaking out cause I know I have money, and his grandmother called Monday morning and got the whole room thing straightened out. So I call the bank, and come to find out, the hotel never released the hold on my card for the room. Yea, that was a blast!!! So finally after a bunch of harrasing cell phone calls in the rain under an awning, it gets straightened out and we go home. Well it seems the hotel felt bad after getting screamed at by a very angry grandmother and decided we needed a bottle of sparkling wine. Which was nice, except I can't drink it.

Thursday we go out walking around for more shopping and site seeing. We get into Sloppy Joe's right before it starts POURING. Then we hear the people at the table next to us talking about sandbags at the door as we're getting up to leave and we're like, yea right, they don't know what they're talking about. Then we notice the inch deep water on the floor in the restaurant. So we go over to the gift shop to get me a t-shirt, and sure enough, there's sand bags at the entrance, and the water in the street is about knee deep. So then we had to wade through all that water, in the rain, to get back to the parking garage where my car was parked. Then we have to sit in the garage for an hour waiting for the water to go down so we can drive back to the hotel.

Needless to say, we checked out early on Friday. But we can say we've been to the keys now.....

Honeymoon Time!!!

So today's the day, getting ready to start packing to head to the keys.....YAY!!!

The house closing was scheduled for the 31st - they over nighted the paperwork to me on Thursday, so I signed and notarized everything yesterday and it's on its way back to them. I will get copies of everything once the other parties have signed.....YAY!!!

I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. Oh, and to make matters even sweeter, he's not making one red cent off the house!

So anyway, no laptop, so I won't be able to post until we get back, but mom tells me the wedding pics (the professional ones) came Friday so I'll have some good ones to post when I get back.

Ta!

Good News and Bad News

So the closing on the house is scheduled for the 31st (of course when we're in the keys) but they are overnighting all the paperwork to me and I just have to sign and have two pages notorized then overnight back!!!!!!

CAN I GET A HOORAY!

The bad news is, my computer is telling me I have a corrupt profile and would not let me log in as myself so I can't get to my email or anything (at least not through Outlook) but I can still get to my gmail, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, please email me and let me know.

Good Things Come in Three's (or a VERY important post)

1. So the wedding was Sunday, it went off without a hitch, or at least I didn't pass out at the altar. Here's a pic for the curious..... yes, he's wiping cake off his face.

2. When I got to ex's house on Monday, he had a contract to sell the house for me to sign. Can I get a YA HOO?

3. Took a home pregnancy test yesterday morning and it was positive....guess we won't be waiting to start the family.

Aunt Tammi says now I'll want to get married every Sunday so that I can have a good week....LOL. You'll have to wait for her to post her pics, as I don't have any yet with her in them - These came from his uncle. Photographer photo's should be ready in two weeks, so I'll have a few more to put up. Until then, you'll just have to be okay with this one.

:)

It's the Big Day!

HELP!

Just kidding. The big day is here. Didn't sleep much last night. But, everything is good other than that. No melt downs (at least from the bride) but I do have to apologize to you all for missing a VERY bloggable pic of Aunt Tammi decorating last night. It's all T1G's fault I think, he wasn't ready with the camera. :)

So I guess I should stop screwing around on the internet now and do something productive. Next time you see me, I'll be a married woman. Keep your fingers crossed that everything stays ok and no crisis pop up today.

Intuition?

So do guys have intuition like a woman does?

This weekend is the wedding, right? So guess who calls me last night? The ex. No we still don't have the house situation resolved, but it's on the market so that's something right? Apparently he had an accident at work and hurt his back and needs surgery. Which means he can't work full time. Which means he can't afford to make the house payments. And since I'm currently unemployed (at least for another few weeks, but he doesn't know that).....Somehow he got them to waive the Mortgage payments due until the first of the year (or so he says) and I have to sign the papers since my name is on the mortgage. Oh and guess when he wants me to sign them???? So I told him I'm busy ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday but I guess I could stop by on Monday and sign them (so he'll leave me alone). I'm starting to wonder if he doesn't know.....

You Saw It Here First

So because I like you guys, you get an exclusive view of my home made cd cases (we're giving out cd's of some of the songs played at the wedding for favors). And don't miss to ever so cute nephew in his tux.....

The quote inside says "On this day I will marry my friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love Anonymous"

Here's A Novel Idea

Who gives a flying crap about whose fault it is that North Korea has nukes? What I want to know is, what the hell are we going to do about it?

Dear Abby.....

LETTERS THAT EVEN "DEAR ABBY" ADMITTED SHE WAS AT A LOSS TO ANSWER

Dear Abby,
A couple of women moved in across the hall from me. One is a middle-aged gym teacher and the other is a social worker in her mid-twenties. These two women go everywhere together and I've never seen a man go into or leave their apartment. Do you think they could be Lebanese?

Dear Abby,
What can I do about all the Sex, Nudity, Fowl Language and Violence On my VCR?

Dear Abby,
I have a man I can't trust. He cheats so much, I'm not even sure the baby I'm carrying is his.

Dear Abby,
I am a twenty-three year old liberated woman who has been on the pill for two years. It's getting expensive and I think my boyfriend should share half the cost, but I don't know him well enough to discuss money with him.

Dear Abby,
I've suspected that my husband has been fooling around, and when confronted with the evidence, he denied everything and said it would never happen again.

Dear Abby,
Our son writes that he is taking Judo. Why would a boy who was raised in a good Christian home turn against his own?

Dear Abby,
I joined the Navy to see the world. I've seen it. Now how do I get out?

Dear Abby,
My forty year old son has been paying a psychiatrist $150.00 an hour every week for two and a half years. He must be crazy.

Dear Abby,
I was married to Bill for three months and I didn't know he drank until one night he came home sober.

Dear Abby,
My mother is mean and short tempered. I think she is going through mental pause.

Dear Abby,
You told some woman whose husband had lost all interest in sex to send him to a doctor. Well, my husband lost all interest in sex and he is a doctor. Now what do I do?

I GOT A JOB!!!

I think the title may be self explanatory.......

I got a job in Gainesville working for a firm that handles the accounting for all the doctor's offices in the area. They are starting me at the pay I was making when I left my previous job, to be reviewed in 90 days, and they have 401k available so I can rollover my previous one, AND, they are starting me after the honeymoon so I don't have to worry about taking time off right away. I am so excited I may just pee myself!!!! Trust me, a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders and now I can just focus on the wedding.

Which by the way is going good so far. We confirmed the head count with the caterer last week and mom is feverishly working on the flowers in order to finish them in time. Since we are waiting a week to go on our honeymoon (we are going to the keys and fantasy fest is the week after the wedding which is the reason for the delay) BF's boss told him under no circumstances is he to come back to work the Monday after the wedding. They are getting us a room at the Don Cesar for the night of the wedding, which is really cool cause I've always wanted to stay there. This is the place we're staying in the keys - it's going to be really cool!

So Sunday my grandmother hosted a bridal shower for me. A lot of my younger cousin's who won't be able to attend the wedding wanted to do it. It was really cool, they had the cake decorated to match the plates and napkins (publix rocks!) and I haven't seen some of the cousins since they were really small, so that was fun. I got a few of the things I asked for from my registry (some decorative shelves and my glasses and a few kitchen items) as well as a really pretty lenox picture frame for our wedding photo and then some items for the wedding (a lucky penny, a charm that's supposed to be good luck, and a hankerchief with blue ribbon and lace). Which reminds me - I still don't have all my wedding music, so if you haven't e-mailed me something yet and have it, go here to see the list; a big thanks to everyone who's sent me stuff already.

Well I think that's it for now - apologies for not posting a lot - now that things are smoothing out some maybe I'll have more time to post and read others.

:)

Funny HA HA

A major airline's passenger cabin was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served them food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and announced to the passengers, "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing this big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed a well-dressed rather exotic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines. I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess. I take orders from no one."
To which the gay flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch!."

Looks Good

So I just got back from my job interview, and I gotta tell you, I think they may offer me the job. The guy told me he had to get out a fire extinguisher to put out his keyboard after I finished the typing test. I did 80wpm with no errors. They are going to be doing a background check and then I'll have a second interview with the CFO, so it will probably be a week or two but I'll keep you posted.

BTW - Thanks for all the songs I've gotten so far and feel free to suggest any you don't see on my list. I should have some pictures of our flowers soon as mom is working like a fiend on them.

More later.

Thank God That's Over!

Just a quick note to let you all know that I am now back online. Had a scare today, didn't know if they'd get it working or not, but it is. E-mail is still not quite right and I don't know if I'll ever get caught up on all my blog reading but I'm here!

BTW - have a job interview tomorrow - wish me luck!

Another Funny

Got this via e-mail from bro's GF.....

Bullfrogs & Blowjobs

A woman went into a store to buy her husband a pet for his birthday. After looking around, she found that all the pets were very expensive. She told the clerk she wanted to buy a pet, but she didn't want to spend a fortune.

"Well," said the clerk, "I have a very large bullfrog. They say it's been trained to give blowjobs!"

"Blowjobs!" the woman replied.
"It hasn't been proven but we have sold 30 of them this month," he said.

The woman thought it would be a great gag gift, and what if it's true. .. no more blowjobs for her! She bought the frog.
When she explained froggy's ability to her husband, he was extremely skeptical and laughed it off. The woman went to bed happy, thinking she may never need to perform this less than riveting act again.

In the middle of the night, she was awakened by the noise of pots and pans flying everywhere, making hellacious banging and crashing sounds. She ran downstairs to the kitchen, only to find her husband and the frog reading cookbooks.

"What are you two doing at this hour?" she asked.

The husband replied, "If I can teach this frog to cook, your ass is gone!!!

I knew there was a reason I hate the Gators.....

So I got accepted to UF......The only problem is none of my upper level accounting classes I have already completed are transferable.....

WTF!?!

I thought all Florida Universities followed a similar class plan? I already have 21 credits completed, there's no way I'm starting over, and no way I'm changing my major. So I have an appointment with a counselor next Wednesday to see if I have any other options. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise....I never really wanted to go to UF anyway (since I'm a Noles fan). I guess UCF here I come. Too bad you're all the way in Ocala - 45 minutes each way. I guess my only option is to find a job down there too so I'll be in the area when class starts.

BOO GATORS!

Oh So Funny!

I almost peed myself when I read this e-mail from Bro's GF:

A Housewife takes a lover during the day, while her husband is at work.
Unknown to her, her 9 year old son was hiding in the closet.
Her husband came home unexpectedly, so she hid her lover in the closet.
The boy now has company.

Boy: "Dark in here."
Man: "Yes it is."
Boy: "I have a baseball."
Man: "That's nice."
Boy: "Want to buy it?"
Man: "No, thanks."
Boy: "My dad's outside."
Man: "OK, how much?"
Boy: "$250."

In the next few weeks, it happens again that the boy and the mom's lover are in the closet together.

Boy: "Dark in here."
Man: "Yes, it is."
Boy: "I have a baseball glove."
Man: "How much?"
Boy: "$750."
Man: "Fine."
A few days later, the father says to the boy, "Grab your glove. Let's go
outside and toss the baseball."
The boy says, "I can't. I sold them."
The father asks, "How much did you sell them for?"
The son says,"$1,000."
The father says, "That's terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That
is way more than those two things cost. I'm going to take you to church and make you confess."
They go to church and the father alerts the priest, and makes the little boy
sit in the confession booth and closes the door.

The boy says, "Dark in here."
The priest says, "Don't start that shit again"

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

YAY!!!!!!!

My dress came, my dress came! HOORAY!

My Personality?

Since I've seen this several places and am in need of content, here you go:

There are 18 letters in your name. Those 18 letters total to 78There are 7 vowels and 11 consonants in your name.
Your number is: 6
The characteristics of #6 are: Responsibility, protection, nurturing, community, balance, sympathy.
The expression or destiny for #6:The number 6 Expression provides you a truly outstanding sense of responsibility, love, and balance. The 6 is helpful and ever conscientious, making you quite capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of inharmonious situation. You are a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick, or the underprivileged. Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you will devote yourself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.
The positive side of the number 6 suggests that you are very loving, friendly, and appreciative of others. You have a depth of understanding that produces much sympathetic, kindness, and generosity. The qualities of the 6 make the finest and most concerned parent and one often deeply involved in domestic activities. Openness and honesty is apparent in your approach to all relationships.
If there is an excess of the number 6 in your makeup, you may exhibit some of the negative traits associated with this number. There may be a tendency for you to be too exacting and demanding of yourself. In this regard, you may at times sacrifice yourself (or your loved ones) for the welfare of others. In some cases, the over zealous 6 has difficulty distinguishing helping from interfering. You may have difficulty expressing your own individuality, because of involvement with responsibilities and causes. Like all with the Expression of the number 6, it's quite likely that you worry much too much.
Your Soul Urge number is: 1
A Soul Urge number of 1 means: Your Soul Urge is the number 1. With a Soul Urge number of 1, you want to lead and direct, to work independent of supervision, by yourself or with subordinates. You take pride in your abilities and want to be recognized for them. You may seek opportunities to display your strength and usefulness, wanting to create and originate. In your desire to manage the big picture and the main issues, you may often leave the details to others.
The positive 1 Soul Urge is Ambitious and determined, a leader seeking opportunities. There is a great deal of honesty and loyalty in this character. If you possess positive 1 Soul Urge qualities, you are very attainment oriented and driven to success. You are a loyal friend and strictly fair in your business dealings.
The negative side of the 1 Soul Urge must be avoided. A negative 1 is apt to dominate situations and people; the home, the spouse, the family and the business. Emotions aren't strong in this nature. If you possess an excess of 1 energy, you may, at times, be boastful and egotistic. You must avoid being too critical and impatient of trifles. The great need of the 1 Soul Urge is the development of friendliness, and a sincere interest in people.
Your Inner Dream number is: 5
An Inner Dream number of 5 means: You dream of being totally free and unrestrained by responsibility. You see yourself conversing and mingling with the natives in many nations, living for adventure and life experiences. You imagine what you might accomplished.

hmmmmmmmmm.......

Here I come to wreck your day....

So I'm still here.....been very busy. Last weekend I got most of my boxes unpacked....YAY! I've applied for several jobs - an actually got a call about one the other day. They were following up for additional information from interesting candidates. I was told she would be giving it all to the controller so she could decide who she wants to interview. Been sick - nephew had a sinus infection that he shared with the whole house.....isn't he sweet?!?

They threw a shower/going away party for me at work last Friday. Was pretty fun - they surprised me by inviting BF - who drove three hours down to spend an hour at my party and then turn around and drive three hours back home - and he brought flowers. Isn't he sweet too?!? So they had a pinata (sp?) filled with $210 one dollar bills. The idea was they were supposed to shower over me when it broke. But for some reason, they tied it to the fire sprinklers so the maintenance guy wouldn't let me finish busting it (darn! I really wanted to...NOT). I asked if I could just shoot it, but they wouldn't let me ;) The lady at the bank looked at me very funny when I brought them in and asked to deposit them.....I wonder why?

Also bought BF's ring today - he is going to love it. I promise once he's seen it I'll post a pic, but it's still a surprise so you have to wait, sorry. The other day I bought 36 calla lillies and 4 hydrangea bushes for $23!!!! At this rate we'll have really cheap boquets. I still haven't found any purple roses I like though. I heard there's a silk flower outlet in Tampa though, so I'm going to go look for it.

Ta for now!

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Oh yea....

Two things I forgot to mention.....

We found (and purchased) a flower girl dress on Saturday....

It's very similar to my dress except for the spaghetti straps.

AND - we went to see Brad Paisley Saturday night. It was pretty good, just not as good as some of the other's we've been to. Next up is Toby Keith.

:)

All is Well.....for now anyway

So I went yesterday for my "freezing" procedure. It went well except for the part where I almost passed out on the way out to the car (they didn't expect that to happen). I had to sit there with the air running for half an hour before I was able to drive home. Napped for a while when I got there and now am good as new. They want to see me again in two weeks to make sure they got everything.

All Hail the Internet Genius

If you are reading this post, it's because the resident internet genius has FIXED the computer. You may clap, hoot, holler, whistle, and praise me as much as you want.

Thank you, that is all.

Aunt Tammi will be soooooo jealous.....

Guess where I am going Saturday, August 19, at 7:30 PM?????

Does this help?

How about this?

Neener, neener, neener.....

Still no internet

So I still haven't fixed mom's computer at home. I am thinking tonight I will try and repair/re-install windows....I am almost positive her problem has to do with corrupted files. So.....posting will continue to be sporadic for a while.

Health News Update

So the nurse called this morning - they decided they didn't need to do the LEEP procedure, they are going to freeze my uterus and then scrape the cells off. Good for me 'cause it doesn't require any numbing or anything. I'm going next Monday. Then check-up's every four months for a year to make sure everything is okay before they let me go back to once yearly exams. Not sure how this is going to work since I'm going to be losing my health care coverage when I leave this job.

I have two prospects through friends of his....one's father own's a construction company and one's wife works at a title company, both are looking for accounting people. If I can get in at one of these places I won't have to go very long without coverage, but I wonder if the new insurance will still pay for the extra exams if I go without coverage in between. Does anyone know anything about this? I don't want to have to go on COBRA - I heard it's really expensive.

Posting will probably be light - at least until this weekend as mom's computer is on the fritz. I think she has some corrupted files in internet explorer but I'm not sure. I looked last night at the window's cd to see if I could just re-install IE but I wasn't able to find anything....I may have to re-install windows - I can't even get a site to come up long enough to download a different browser and test it. I wonder if I can download on my bro's computer and then burn to a cd and use that to install on mom's.....

So since mom's computer was down - we missed the auction for the flower girl dress. Guess we're still looking....maybe she can come up this weekend to go shopping again. Also going to Brad Paisley this weekend if my tickets ever arrive - I think they're in forwarding limbo.....

Well that's it for now.

Let's Try This Again

Ok - it looks like I can finally upload pics, so here's the dress. There is a lot of light in these pictures so you can't tell, but the whole dress is actually a lilac color. The description on eBay says the skirt is a crepe material with crinoline underneath.

BTW - I'm so glad to hear people say they like the pasta station - I think we (MOM) were a little worried that maybe a more traditional meal was appropriate.

FYI

I tried uploading the dress pics but blogger is not cooperating - I'll try again later.

Also - just in case you didn't know - Midol and Dove dark chocolate are the best things ever invented.

That is all.

Wedding Update 1,559,987,651,366

We paid a deposit with the caterer last night - here's the menu:

Fresh fruit display with chocolate fondue
Assorted cheese tray served with crackers
Garden veggie tray with southern ranch dip

And for the main course, a pasta station with choice of Ziti, Bow Tie, or Fettuccini noodles - Marinara, Alfredo, or pesto sauce - Grilled chicken, baby shrimp, or italian sausage - sun dried tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini. With that comes salad, and dinner rolls with butter, and a choice of two of the following beverages: coffee, iced tea, lemonade, and wedding punch.

Also included are decorations and linens for all the food tables to match our colors, china, and cake cutting and passing service. I think the quote was like $1,700 for 50 people for four hours and that includes the servers.

I think we pretty much decided that we are going to just do playlists on the iPod for music - so if anyone has any songs they want to donate......

We found a dress I really like for the flower girl on eBay - when I go home at lunch time I will post a picture.

We still have to pick out flowers to make the boquets and decide on decorations, but other than that, I think we're done. I want to book a hotel for the wedding night on St. Pete Beach and we would like to go to the Keys for our honeymoon, but I don't know that we'll be able to afford it. That may have to wait a while - but it will happen eventually.

So Friday I took the day off to finish packing (or maybe to actually start) since Saturday the whole motley crew is showing up to load my stuff up and take it to Gainesville. I think while I'm home that day I'll call the staffing agency in Gainesville and have them start looking for employment for me. Hopefully they'll have something lined up fairly quickly. I still may post on my own as well depending on what they find and how fast.

Still waiting to hear back on biopsy results.

More later.

Because it makes ME feel better

News

So I've been debating all day on whether or not I should post this, but in the end decided it would be ok.

About a month ago I went in for my "yearly exam" - they called a few days later to tell me the results were abnormal and referred me to a specialist. I was a little nervous at first, but several people assured me that most women get an abnormal result at least once in their life and if it was serious they would have rushed everything along.

Well I promptly forgot about it until yesterday - my follow up visit with the specialist. It seems the first test yielded what they call "pre-cancerous" cells. So they did a biopsy yesterday, results to follow in a week. There is the possibility of a very uncomfortable procedure in my future to remove the cells.....

Just another thing to stress about with everything else that is going on. I admit I haven't really done any research yet, so I don't know all there is to know about it, but I am just slightly freaked out by the whole thing. While good thoughts are welcome and appreciated, please don't tell me not to worry about it and it's nothing....I think if one more person tells me this I will hit someone. It may be that it truly is nothing to worry about but it's my body right? I get to be concerned and worried if I want to.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway, and trying not to think to much about it until I hear results - I'll update then if anyone is interested.

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO

I have the contract in my hot little hand. I paid the deposit, the place is ours!!!! Now I can FINALLY send out invitations. Ya think 3 months notice is ok?

More Wedding Updates

Ok - are you all sick of hearing about this stuff yet??????

We met with the photographer yesterday, his pictures are awesome, so we hired him. AND - $410 total for the ceremony and reception. WOOOOO HOOOOO

We're thinking we may not need a DJ after all. I don't know if anyone in the family will dance. I'm thinking I'll create a wedding mix on the iPod or something.

Yesterday I had a HUGE scare with the venue. We met with the Manager of the place two weeks ago, decided we liked it, and he agreed to hold it for us. His secretary (who does the contracts) was going to be on vacation all the following week (last week) and so he told us to call back sometime this week so we could have her write up the contract. Well, I called yesterday morning, and she tells me that they are already booked on that day.

WHAT!!!???!!!!

At this point I start panicking. I told her he promised us that he would hold the room until she was back and she said sorry, it's already reserved. So I get in touch with the guy we originally talked to and tell him this must be some kind of mistake, you told us you would hold it until the secretary was back. Well he didn't get back to me right away, so I spent the first few hours of the day literally in tears cause I knew there was no way we'd find another place on such short notice. Finally he got back to me and said sorry for the mistake, we'll move the other party. And all was right with the world again..... I'm going this afternoon to sign the contract and drop off the deposit. Hopefully, we don't have anymore big scares like that, I don't think I can take it.

LA la la de da.....

I am sooooo bored right now! I am in class and we are writing complaint and response letters to our fellow classmates about our fake companies. I would be working on my complaint response right now except the person who was supposed to write me spent 45 minutes typing his letter and then sent it to e-mail oblivion. He can't find it in his sent box so he is now re-typing. Yippy, now I get to write my response on my own time.....grrr.

Wedding Updates

So we did NOT find a dress for the flower girl this weekend. We looked at Burlington Coat Factory, and while they do have some cute stuff, it is not quite as nice as I am looking for. We also went to a consignment shop and found a few things we liked, but one was too small and the other needed to be hemmed, but all the pretty designs that made us like it were at the bottom of the dress. We also went to visit my Aunt and ate at one of the Amish restaurants down there. I got some Peanut Butter, Apple Butter, and two different kinds of cheeses. I have to remember next time I am down there to get a Shoofly Pie and a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie for the future in-laws.

Had to change the meeting with the photographer to tomorrow. I also have someone coming to pick up my dresser tomorrow. I now have sold all the big furniture I wanted to get rid of before the move (YAY!).

Next Tuesday we are meeting with the caterer. They are available, so hopefully the food tastes good.

Did not get invitations out this weekend and seeing as how I had errands to run at lunch and class tonight, they will probably not go out until tomorrow.

My brother finally went and got measured for his tux today....YAY

I have to also go tomorrow at lunch to Merle Norman, I heard they have really good tatoo covering makeup. Don't want an armband in my wedding pictures thanks.

Still have to go pick out flowers for the boquets, find a DJ, see about renting a gazebo/chairs if we want to have the ceremony outdoors.

Still need to finalize plans for reception so I can call and have them write up a contract for me. We need to decide how many round tables vs. long tables etc.

Got a bunch of boxes today, just need to go buy packing tape. I am taking next Friday off so hopefully I can get all the packing done that I have left (which will probably be a lot) before the big move that weekend.

Sheesh. Anyone want to volunteer to help me????

What Patients Say During C0lnoscopies........

C0lonoscopies are no joke , but these comments during the exam were quite humorous..... A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their c0lonoscopies:

1. "Take it easy, Doc. You're boldly going where no man has gone before!
2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?"
3. "Can you hear me NOW?"
4. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
5. "You know, in Arkansas , we're now legally married."
6. "Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?"
7. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out..."
8. "Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!"
9. "If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit!
10. "Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity."
11. "You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?"
12. "God, now I know why I am not gay."

And the best one of all...

13. "Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is not up here?"

More Truth

Ok, I know it's a lot in one day, but I don't usually get more than one thing I think is really funny in a day......

You might be a Floridian if...

"Down South" means Key West

"Panhandling" means going to Pensacola.

You think no-one over 70 should be allowed to drive.

Flip-flops are everyday wear, shoes are for business meetings and church. No, wait, flip flops are good for church too, unless it's Easter or Christmas.

Sweet tea can be served at any meal.

An alligator once walked through your neighborhood.

You smirk when a game show's "Grand Prize" is a trip or cruise to Florida.

You measure distance in minutes.

You have a drawer full of bathing suits, and one sweatshirt.

You get annoyed at the tourists who feed seagulls.

All the local festivals are named after a fruit.

A mountain is any hill 100 feet above sea level.

You think everyone from a bigger city has a northern accent.

You know the four seasons really are: almost summer, summer, not summer but really hot, and Christmas.

It's not soda, cola, or pop...it's coke, regardless of brand or flavor, "What kinda coke you want?"

Anything under 95 is just warm.

You've hosted a hurricane party.

You go to a theme park for an afternoon, and know when to get on the best rides.

You pass on the right and honk at the elderly.

You understand the futility of exterminating cockroaches.

You can pronounce Okeechobee, Kissimmee and Withlacoochee.

You understand why it's better to have a friend with a boat, than have a boat yourself.

Bumper stickers on the pickup in front of you include: various fish, NRA, and a confederate flag.

You were 8 before you realized they made houses without pools.

You were 12 when you first met someone who couldn't swim.

You get angry when people say "Florida isn't really part of the SOUTH"

You've worn shorts and used the A/C on Christmas.

You know what the "stingray shuffle" is, and why it's important!

You recognize Miami-Dade as " Northern Cuba"

Ain't It the Truth??!!??

FEMALE PRAYER

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to "how big is my behind?"
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.
Amen.

MALE PRAYER

I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs
Who owns a liquor store and a fishing boat. This
Doesn't rhyme and I don't give a shit.
Amen.

Back Again!

So I've kind of dropped of the face of blogger for a few days, but hey, I've got a lot of stuff going on! So here's some updates for you....

I've got the invitations just about done, they should go out this weekend. And they look good....YAY me!

Mom will be calling two caterers we picked tomorrow. Hopefully at least one is available.

I'll be meeting with a VERY reasonably priced photographer on Monday - he works with Mom's BF so he comes with good references (Mom's BF is a graphic artist - so he knows good pictures).

We're going shopping Saturday with the flower girl to hopefully find a dress. Keep your fingers crossed.

My class is going really good - it's Professional Writing, so all we're doing is letters and memo's and resumes - and I just did my resume, so I don't have to do it, I can just turn in the one I have, YAY! Oh yea, and I did end up with an A in Principles of Management...YAY for 100% reimbursement!

I'm calling the staffing office in Gainesville tomorrow (the same office that got me my current job) so they can start the search for me.

So far I've gotten by bookcase and my massive paperback collection already in Gainesville and about 5 more boxes (plus my already boxed Christmas stuff) ready to go. My plan is to take a few boxes with me every weekend until moving day to cut down on the stuff we have to haul up there. He's got a few friends with enclosed trailers who are coming down to help us move my stuff.

Oh yea, and anyone who watched the world cup should go here and try this game.....

Later Peeps

Happy Birthday!

So I hear that it's a certain bloggers birthday....so in honor of the occasion, here's some stuff I think T1G needs to survive his 39th year......

Maybe he can use this to get some ideas on how to control his rodent problem.....

Then a t-shirt to celebrate after he is successful.

He's going to need lots of beer......

This might come in handy too.

Oh yea, and here's a picture I snuck after the big birthday bash.......

Happy Birthday T1G, I hope you enjoy your day!

I Think I May Like This Class.....

They have computers in the classrooms.....They better hope I don't get bored! Right now we're gossiping and waiting on the instructor. Stay tuned!

Way too much to do and Way too little time.....

Oh god help me before I lose my mind. I just realized this morning that I have three weeks left to pack up my apartment. AAAACCCCKKKKK!!!! I still have to find a job up there, and plan this wedding. I think I may lose my mind before it's all done. If anything could drive a person to drink.....

Anyway - I found the tiara I liked from David's Bridal on eBay last night for $20 - it was $150 in the store. I also found the shoes I liked for $24.95 - they were $55 in the store. Woo Hoo for eBay.

Expect any posting I do (or don't do) in the next few weeks to be rushed and stressed sounding. Hell, I might even drive the rest of you crazy just reading about it. Oh yea, and if anyone has any boxes, send them my way.

Saturday, July 01, 2006

I have a dress!!!!

Here it is....

The one I originally wanted was to heavy and hot, I didn't even feel like I could walk in it. This one is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Here's the bridesmaid dress we got....

And, we may have found a place for the reception (and it's cheap). HOORAY!!!!!!

More Yummy Goodness

So if any of you guys out there get tired of seeing this stuff, you can always tell me how I can hide it. Who knows, I might even post some thank you pictures......

:)

Pictures

Ok, so I promised some pictures of yours truly.....

This is my second birthday - according to mom, when they started singing I hid under the table and wouldn't come out. I remember we had those chairs for quite a while.....

This is me doing something I wasn't supposed to do (mom always said I was way independent). I think there's also a picture somewhere of me after I got in trouble for it.

Mr. Potato head was my friend, what can I say?

This was (I think) 5th grade, which would have made me around 11. I HATED the long hair, but mom would never let me cut it.....

This is one of my favorite pictures - notice the puffy paint T-shirt. I think I made that in Girl Scouts. GOD I was such a geek (I have band pics too somewhere). I want to say I was 13 here. This was of course after I went to stay at Grandma's for a week during the summer and promised her mom said I could cut my hair (I was an EVIL child). When mom came to pick me up, she pretended she didn't know who I was.

Self explanatory I think...I believe I was about 15 in this one. Too bad there's no adult leagues around here, could be a good way to get back in shape....that and I loved playing. They could have gotten us a better sponsor though.

Men beware.....don't piss me off. Another sport I dabbled in after soccer, I was 17 here.

And last but not least, my senior picture. I had just turned 18 I believe. The one's they took for the yearbook turned out like crap, so we went to Sear's and had them redone, sans the cap and gown. I remember when we bought that dress. I took one look at it on the hangar and decided it was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen. Mom convinced me to try it on however, and it actually looked good on me. Go figure.

Sorry folks, no recent pictures that I care to share with you all, either BF is in them (not sure how he'd feel about his mug on the internet) or they are crappy. I will try to get some good ones to post soon.

Tomorrow - maybe some bikini blogging for blog-grandpappy Harvey. Keep up the suggestions y'all - questions, requests, whatever. This is actually kinda fun!

Wedding Updates

So Aunt Tammi wants a wedding update. Well, here it is.....

_)*(&(*&#)_+)+)(#)(&)(*&)(*!&_!~!

Seriously though - I am stressed out about the whole thing. It is much more complicated and time consuming than I ever imagined. I would really rather have someone else do EVERYTHING and just tell me when to show up. But, since it doesn't work that way....here is what I have so far.

These are the invitations I purchased.

This is the guest book I purchased.

This is the ring bearer pillow I like.

This is the dress I like.

These are the unity candles I like.

These are the cakes I like (with flowers to match bouquet).

This is the bouquet I will be having made for me (with matching boutonnieres (sp?) for the groom and best man, maid of honor bouquet, and corsages for the mothers) They will probably be more closely matched to the dress below, with maybe a hint of pink/mauve or burgundy.

This is the maid of honor dress I like.

This is the flower girl dress I like. Needs color though - I think I'll have the handle of the basket lined with flowers to match my bouquet, not sure how else to add color to it though - ideas are welcome!

These are the cake topper flowers I found, made by the same person who does the bouquets. I was thinking about asking her to match the cake picture though (obviously the flowers would be the same color as the bouquet, not pink).

She also makes these really pretty gazebo's....

Notice I said I have only purchased two things so far. I'll be making my flower girl basket since I didn't like most of what I found on the internet and in the stores - why must they cover EVERYTHING in satin???? It's a bit much I think. I have a lead on a cheap photographer, and then I'd just need to possibly find a DJ (not a band - so if I request a song, I can hear the person I like singing it). I also found the ring I want to buy him, but there'll be no picture of that here since it is a surprise for him. I promise after he's seen it, I'll let you all see it too. ;)

Still have not decided on a place to have it as the boat was not as nice as I expected. In order for there to be enough room for us we would have had to reserve the whole boat. Which would have been fine, except it is old and not in as good of shape as they make it look in the pictures (there was wallpaper peeling off in the upstairs deck)! Right now, I am looking into the Tradewinds Resort on St. Pete Beach. I don't want a beach wedding, but supposedly they have gazebos which would be nice, and their catering service looks to be of a reasonable price. They have not responded to my e-mail yet, so cross your fingers people!

Tomorrow - I'll be posting some pictures of yours truly for Oddybobo.
